Listings show a credential on record; they say nothing about the quality of anyone's work. ## Sources - U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2022 (NAICS 5412 and sub-codes 541211, 541213, 541214, 541219) — establishment counts, employment and annual payroll by metropolitan statistical area. - IRS Return Preparer PTIN listing, released under the Freedom of Information Act, February 2026 — firms employing credentialed preparers. We publish firm-level records only: no individual names and no street addresses. ## Known limits, please cite them - Census figures cover the whole metropolitan area; firm listings cover the city proper. The two counts are not comparable and are not meant to match. - Census counts only businesses with paid employees.
